





DESIGN SKILLS TO LEARN
- paper marbling: a method of designing with ink on water to produce patterns on paper similar to marble
- pen + ink drawing: a drawing technique involving the use of black ink
- hatch marks + crosshatch marks to create shape, texture, + dimension
- adding a wax seal for style

- sketchbook
- extra sheet of watercolor paper for marbling
- marbling inks
- empty paint palette or other containers to place inks in
- water in a measuring cup
- paper towels or rag + drying station for wet paper
- butcher tray or any other tray, cookie sheet, pan, casserole dish that can hold water, is large enough for your watercolor paper , + won’t stain
- 1/2 sheet of brown paper
- 1/2 sheet of ivory card-stock
- small water color paper to draw ink well on
- thin and thick black felt tip pens
- white feather
- black sharpie
- super tacky glue
- black tempera [poster] paint
- thin paint brush
- 3M foam tape
- items to create a wax seal: wax pieces, measuring spoon, tea candle + seal
