DESIGN SKILLS TO LEARN

  • soft woodland landscape painting
  • using a landscape painting for a diagram

MATERIALS: (SEE ART TOOLS IN MENU FOR DETAILS + LINKS)

  • watercolor sketchbook or two pieces of watercolor paper
  • light pencil (HB or No.2 pencil)
  • dark pencil (2B & 3B pencils are dark in color)
  • watercolor paint pan
  • watercolor pencils (or color pencils)
  • paint brushes

STEP NO.1

  • with a light pencil and a light hand draw a woodland landscape

  • watercolor your woodland landscape

STEP NO.3

  • after your painting drys trace it with a dark pencil (2B or 3B)
  • with dark pencil label your drawing to explain how the natural cycles work
