





DESIGN SKILLS TO LEARN
- creating perspective and distance through dark to light grays
- monochromatic color palette
- mixing paint to get dark to light grays
- be inspired by a photograph for a painting

MATERIALS (SEE ART TOOLS IN MENU FOR DETAILS + LINKS)
- watercolor sketchbook or watercolor paper
- pencil
- black and white tempera paint (poster paint)
- paint brushes (small and medium)
- cups for mixing paint
- paper towels to protect other pages
- black and white gridded paper (my paper has blue grids so I made dark black and white xerox copy)
- black felt tip marker
- scissors
- white paper or white sticker labels if you choose to stick your windows off after painting (see video for detail)
- glue stick


STEP NO.1
- draw factory buildings
- note: larger buildings with larger windows are easier to paint



STEP NO.2
- PAINT! follow the video for directions





STEP NO.3
- write history sentence on black and white gridded paper (my paper has blue grids so I made dark black and white xerox copy)
- cut out + glue on
